Newport Through the Ages

Newport through the ages exhibition spanning from the 1920s all the way up to the 2000's and the many changes within the town, from transport where Newport was the central railway hub connecting all the other towns, to shops and retail expansion when chain stores arrived and reshaped the High Street. Showing familiar sights from local shops in days gone by, and the way we used to purchase goods from the old Wray's coffee grinder and cash register and memories of  how nice the cakes were, to paper cuttings from the past that highlighted the changes in our County town. This nostalgic exhibition reminded some people of shopping in their youth, and sometimes their very first jobs.
