Henry was born 1872 in Newport to Joseph Alexander & Rosanna (nee ILOT) CAMPBELL who were living at 120 Aberdeen Street, Perth, Western Australia. The family emigrated to Australia around 1884 when Henry was 12.

Henry, aged 40, was Killed in Action on the 19th of November 1915 & is buried at the Ari Burnu Cemetery in Turkey beneath a Commission Pedestal Marker bearing the Family Inscription: “GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN TO LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS”. He rests alongside 252 of his First World War comrades, 42 of whom remain unidentified
