Private
10th Battalion The Green Howards
12th Battalion Parachute Regment

Reginald was born 1925 in Gloucester to Thomas & Annie (nee BODMAN) DRAGE of Lower Tuffley in Gloucester. Reginald’s link to Newport is unclear at this time.

Reginald enlisted in the General Service Corps & volunteered for airborne forces, successfully completing parachute training at RAF Ringway, on course number 90, from 1st to the 13th of November 1943, & was posted to 12th (10th Battalion, The Green Howards [Yorkshire Regiment]) Battalion the Parachute Regiment, & took part in Operation Overlord (D Day landings). Aged 20, Reginald was listed as Missing Presumed Killed in Action on the 7th of June 1944, his body was never found or identified, & so Reginald is commemorated by the Commission on the Bayeux Memorial in France together with 1,789 of his Second World War comrades.

Reginald is also remembered on the Newport Borough War Memorial.
