Second Lieutenant
8th Battalion Isle of Wight Rifles
Hampshire Regiment

Frederick was born on the 4th of December 1884 in Corfu, Greece to George RAYMOND. He married Rita. His link to Newport is unclear.

Frederick had originally attested for Service with the Canadian Expeditionary Force on the 22nd of December 1914. He served previously with the 32nd Battalion. Canadian Infantry as a Private, & as a Lance Corporal with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Upon commissioning he transferred to the Hampshire Regiment. Prior to the war he had been an Accountant, & gave his address as 820 Victoria Avenue, Saskatoon, Sakatchewan.

Frederick, aged 30, was listed as Missing Presumed Killed in Action on the 21st of August 1915. His body was never found or identified & so Frederick is commemorated by the Commission on the Helles Memorial at Gallipoli in Turkey together with 20,962 of his First World War comrades.

Frederick is also remembered on the Newport Borough War Memorial.
